Ibanez Soundgear Series basses have been providing players with modern alternatives to classic bass designs since 1987. They have been popular mainly due to their ultra-lightweight, smaller body with two cutouts and ergonomic shape, very fast neck with excellent playability and sophisticated electronics. Great sound is a given.
The body of this bass is made of mahogany and is bolted to a neck made up of five pieces of maple and rosewood. The neck is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard on which we find 24 medium frets. The radius of the neck measures 305 mm. The size of the menstruum corresponds to 864 mm, the width of the zero fret stops at 38 mm.
The instrument is equipped with two passive Power Span Dual Coil humbucker pickups, whose sound characteristics can be changed using the three-position Power Tap switch. Balance and Volume controls are used to further influence the tone, and there’s also a three-band EQ that lets you take away or add bass, treble and mids.
The hardware is black, and the strings are mounted in a solid headstock with extra-large holes to accommodate even the thickest batches of strings. The stones in the headstock are also protected against sideways movement. Precision tuning mechanisms with large pins allow for comfortable tuning.
The Soundgear Standard Series guitars are designed for a wide range of bassists who require a perfectly crafted instrument with a great sound without having to invest huge sums in it.
